Yes the old ugly mutt above is me, hi my name is Rod. I'm a member of Redditch Deaf Club.
I decided to create this web site for several reasons.

1 . There was no web site for Redditch Deaf Club.

2 . When I first started to learn sign language, some web sights did have sign demonstrations but they were for different parts of the country, and took ages to load up each picture.

3 . I wanted to give something back to the people at the deaf club, who where so welcoming and helpful, and very patient with me. (still are)

4 . Many deaf issue sites only seem to want to try and sell you books or videos, which has its place. But I felt there should be some where to look and get the help and information without always having to pay for it.

5 . Redditch deaf club will be 21 years old this year (2002) and I wanted to help bring it up to date with current technology.



I hope you enjoy this site, I have deliberately kept it as simple as possible. So its easy to navigate, but still informative and yet generate a happy and fun attitude to learning sign language, and understanding deaf awareness.
The vocabulary pictures are crude but I hope, still an effective enough tool to learning quickly without having to wait ages for one picture to load.   

And if you have managed to get to this page on your own, your learning very well.
Keep up the good work, signing is not only great fun. But helps your deaf community.

Every month I get emails asking me to make more vocabulary pictures, I had no idea they would be so keenly used and popular. It seems I was not the only one struggling to find extra help.
Be assured I will keep adding more each month, they do take time to create.
 
And remember to visit and support your local deaf club, there is no where better to learn and practice your signing.
 
It is my intention to make this site the best and most informative deaf club web site in the world. Why not assist me with your suggestions and constructive comments.
