My Sign Name
Ouch!

Previous Page

If a poem you wish to send to me,
let it be known now, that there is no fee,
it must have a rhyme, that is the key,
or never the day light shall it see,
it need not be witty or full of glee,
so long as it does not destroy another tree,
make it a deaf issue, and send it to me.

College
I went to college to learn BSL,
Some of the students at the first hurdle fell,
the teacher just said "oh well",
some weeks were fun, other were hell,
but Lynne our teacher had us under her spell,
showed us signs, and the difference to tell,
and as a class we started to gel.

We started with the good old finger spell,
and moved onto the show and tell,
some of us did not do so well,
but that photo! made us laugh and yell.

Now we are nervous because the exam,
practice, practice, our fingers in a jam,
repeating the same thing like an old radio gram,
as in our minds we try to cram,
remember the CACDP is based in Dur ham.

Now its all over and a pass we did get,
nice to see that we got a full set,
none of us would have made that bet,
was not worth all that worry and fret.

My Sign Name

My sign name is "again",
this is not a proud claim,
but I'm not all to blame,
people just don't sign the same,
understanding is hard to gain,
they just won't keep it plain,
I have a small amount of fame,
because again is my sign name.

Their signing is to fast,
and the vocabulary is vast,
I missed that it went strait past,
have to stop him again, Oh blast,
maybe the die is cast,
I stand out like a flag on a mast,
Oh I understood that, at last.

They put up with me, I don't know why,
I must make them want to cry,
books I go out and buy,
I practice, I really do try,
I must be like a sty in the eye,
when I understand it's a high,
but in the mean time, Oh my!

A woman said hello again,
can you sign that again please Jane,
she laughed and said that's just lame,
but she was glad that I came,
I think she knows about my fame,
and my sign name "again".

Ouch!

With a turn of the hand and a flick of the wrist,
she just explained how the bus she just missed,
she got up late because last night she was pissed,
but she had a good night and a boy nearly kissed,
now she's into full speed and I've lost the gist,
oh its me, she's showing her fist.
Ouch!
Apparently it was me that got her 'brames and list',
and then, that I tried to be kissed!
I think I've just been struck of her list.

Funny thing that because I don't remember,
I was here last night as I'm a member,
then went home to watch a film about John Denver,
these female creatures are a strange gender,
I will prepare a fax to send her,
ouch my nose, that's really tender.
